Hands and feet

Paraffin, callus work and a proper massage. These are usually added to a manicure or a pedicure, and they are also bookable alone if that is all you want.

  • A published price and a published length on every line
  • Needs one of the three pedicure chairs as well as a technician
  • No product brand named, here or anywhere on this site

Hand and foot treatments, priced

The length in the second column is what the booking calendar reserves. The last column is when this service typically wants seeing again, which is a fact about the service and not a sales tactic.

A pedicure needs a chair as well as a person. There are three pedicure chairs and six technicians. A pedicure needs a chair as well as a person, so it can be unavailable at a time when a manicure is not.

What each of these actually is

Paraffin hand treatment

$24 · 20 minutes

Warm wax over the hands and wrists, wrapped, then lifted off. It is heat and occlusion rather than anything clever, and in a Queens January it is the most-booked twenty minutes in the shop.

  • Warm paraffin to the wrist
  • Wrapped and rested
  • Lifted, oiled and massaged

Callus treatment

$26 · 20 minutes · back in five to six weeks

Softened, reduced with a file and finished smooth. Reduced, not removed: callus is there because of how you walk and taking all of it off means it comes back harder.

  • Warm soak
  • Reduced by hand with a file
  • Smoothed and creamed

Hand exfoliation and massage

$20 · 15 minutes

A scrub to the elbow, a hot towel and a fifteen-minute massage of the hand, wrist and forearm. Bookable alone, and the thing most people add when they have twenty minutes spare.

  • Scrub to the elbow
  • Hot towel
  • Hand, wrist and forearm massage

These are not the clever part of the price list

Paraffin is heat and occlusion. A scrub is a scrub. A massage is fifteen minutes of somebody paying attention to your forearm. None of it is complicated and none of it is claimed to be anything other than what it is — and in a Queens January the paraffin is the most-booked twenty minutes in the shop.

Add them or book them alone

Most people add one to a manicure or a pedicure, and the calendar adds its minutes to the appointment. All three are also bookable on their own if that is genuinely all you want, which is a normal thing to want on a Tuesday.

What callus work is and is not

It is softening, reducing by hand with a file and finishing smooth. It is not removal, because callus is a response to how you walk and taking all of it off means it returns harder. Nobody here uses a blade on a foot.

Who does this

Marisol Vega, Thu-Ha Nguyen, Rina Ocampo, Danna Ruiz, Emil Duran and Yelena Boyko. You can ask for a person by name when you book, and the calendar will only offer you times that person is actually working — including their lunch, which is not a slot.

Files and buffers are single use. Files, buffers and wooden sticks are single use and binned in front of you. Steel is washed and steam sterilised, and every pedicure gets a fresh liner.

There are nails we will not work on. There are nails we will not work on, and there is a page that lists them. Being told no at the beginning of an appointment is better than being told nothing and finding out in a fortnight.

The people here

Six tables · three pedicure chairs · a published price for everything

Book an appointment

Pick the service and any add-ons and the calendar adds up the minutes before it looks for a slot, so the times you are offered are times that actually fit what you asked for. A pedicure also needs one of the three chairs, and if none is free at four o'clock on a Saturday it will say so rather than book you in and hope.
