Repairs and removals

One broken nail, a soak-off with nothing going back on, or a full set taken off properly. All three are bookable on their own and none of them requires you to have had the work done here.

  • A published price and a published length on every line
  • Needs a technician and a table, and nothing else
  • No product brand named, here or anywhere on this site

Repairs and removals, priced

The length in the second column is what the booking calendar reserves. The last column is when this service typically wants seeing again, which is a fact about the service and not a sales tactic.

Repairs and removals. Prices are before sales tax; the length is what the calendar reserves.

Single nail repair 15 minutes $14 —
Gel soak-off 30 minutes $22 —
Extension removal 45 minutes $38 —

The length is worked out, not assumed. Every service on this site has a length against it, and every add-on adds its own minutes. The calendar adds them up before it looks for a slot, so the time you are offered is a time that actually fits what you asked for.

What each of these actually is

Single nail repair

$14 · 15 minutes

One nail rebuilt and colour-matched. Free within seven days on a set we applied — book it as this service and we take the charge off at the counter.

  • One nail rebuilt
  • Shaped to match the set
  • Colour matched and sealed

Gel soak-off

$22 · 30 minutes

Gel taken off properly and nothing put back on: filed down, wrapped, lifted rather than scraped, then buffed and oiled. Book this instead of picking it off, which is the single most damaging thing anyone does to their own nails.

  • Top layer filed
  • Wrapped and lifted
  • Surface buffed
  • Cuticle oil and a hand cream

Extension removal

$38 · 45 minutes

A full set of acrylic or hard gel taken off, the natural nail cleaned up, shaped and buffed. Forty-five minutes because doing it in twenty is how nails get thinned.

  • Product reduced and removed
  • Natural nail shaped
  • Buffed and oiled
  • An honest look at the state of the nail

You do not have to have had it done here

Half the removals in this shop are somebody else's work, and that is completely fine. Bring it in. There is a separate line on the price list for soaking off work from another salon, and it is longer than taking off our own because we do not know what is under it and would rather find out slowly than quickly.

Please do not pick it off

This is the single most damaging thing anybody does to their own nails, and it is the reason for the thin, bendy, white-flecked nail that takes three to six months to grow out. Peeling gel takes layers of nail plate with it. A soak-off is half an hour and it costs less than a manicure.

A repair inside a week is free

If a nail on a set we applied lifts, chips or breaks within seven days, come back and it is fixed at no charge. Book it as a single nail repair and we take the charge off at the counter. Past seven days it is ordinary wear and it is the price on the list.

Why a removal takes as long as it does

Acrylic and hard gel are reduced with a file first, then either wrapped and lifted or filed the rest of the way. The bit that takes time is the last layer, where the product and your nail are hardest to tell apart. Rushing that is how the nail underneath gets thinned, so we do not.

Who does this

Marisol Vega, Thu-Ha Nguyen, Rina Ocampo, Danna Ruiz, Emil Duran and Yelena Boyko. You can ask for a person by name when you book, and the calendar will only offer you times that person is actually working — including their lunch, which is not a slot.

Files and buffers are single use. Files, buffers and wooden sticks are single use and binned in front of you. Steel is washed and steam sterilised, and every pedicure gets a fresh liner.

There are nails we will not work on. There are nails we will not work on, and there is a page that lists them. Being told no at the beginning of an appointment is better than being told nothing and finding out in a fortnight.

The people here

Six tables · three pedicure chairs · a published price for everything

Book an appointment

Pick the service and any add-ons and the calendar adds up the minutes before it looks for a slot, so the times you are offered are times that actually fit what you asked for. A pedicure also needs one of the three chairs, and if none is free at four o'clock on a Saturday it will say so rather than book you in and hope.
