Nail art

Most art is an add-on to whatever you are already having. If you already have a set on and you only want it decorated, book the art session instead.

  • A published price and a published length on every line
  • Needs a technician and a table, and nothing else
  • No product brand named, here or anywhere on this site

Nail art, priced

The length in the second column is what the booking calendar reserves. The last column is when this service typically wants seeing again, which is a fact about the service and not a sales tactic.

Nail art. Prices are before sales tax; the length is what the calendar reserves.

Nail art session 30 minutes $45 —

The length is worked out, not assumed. Every service on this site has a length against it, and every add-on adds its own minutes. The calendar adds them up before it looks for a slot, so the time you are offered is a time that actually fits what you asked for.

What each of these actually is

Nail art session

$45 · 30 minutes

Thirty minutes with the artist on a set you already have on — ours or somebody else's, as long as it is sound. Bring a picture. If what you want will not fit in thirty minutes we will tell you before we start rather than halfway through.

  • Thirty minutes of hand-painted work
  • Any number of nails
  • Sealed under a top coat

It is usually an add-on, and it has a length

Art on one or two accent nails adds ten minutes; art across all ten adds twenty-five. Those are not estimates — they are what the calendar reserves, which is why a gel manicure with art on all ten nails is offered to you as 1 hour 25 minutes rather than as 1 hour.

Bring a picture

Everybody apologises for this and nobody should. A photograph is a better brief than any description, and it lets us tell you before we start whether what you want fits in the time you have booked. If it does not, you will hear that at the beginning rather than at the point where seven nails are done and the shop is closing.

Chrome and cat-eye are finishes, not paintings

Chrome is a powder rubbed into a cured top coat until it goes mirrored. Cat-eye is magnetic particles pulled into a band while the colour is still wet, one nail at a time. Both are on the add-on list at ten minutes each, both only work over gel, and both show every ridge underneath — which is why the prep matters more for these than for anything else on the list.

The lookbook is painted on loose tips

Everything in the gallery on this site was painted on loose tips rather than on a hand, on quiet Sunday afternoons. That is so what you are choosing is the finish and not somebody's hands, and there is a page that explains it properly.

Who does this

Danna Ruiz. You can ask for a person by name when you book, and the calendar will only offer you times that person is actually working — including their lunch, which is not a slot.

Files and buffers are single use. Files, buffers and wooden sticks are single use and binned in front of you. Steel is washed and steam sterilised, and every pedicure gets a fresh liner.

There are nails we will not work on. There are nails we will not work on, and there is a page that lists them. Being told no at the beginning of an appointment is better than being told nothing and finding out in a fortnight.

The people here

Six tables · three pedicure chairs · a published price for everything

Book an appointment

Pick the service and any add-ons and the calendar adds up the minutes before it looks for a slot, so the times you are offered are times that actually fit what you asked for. A pedicure also needs one of the three chairs, and if none is free at four o'clock on a Saturday it will say so rather than book you in and hope.
