10 things, said plainly
What we do not offer
A shop that lists everything it does and nothing it does not is not being helpful. This is the other half of the price list.
- Waxing, threading, lashes or brows. None of it, and there is no room for it. Several perfectly good places within three blocks do all four.
- Hair. No.
- Massage beyond the hands and feet. The massage in a pedicure is the calf down and the massage in a manicure is the elbow down. That is the whole of it.
- Anything that breaks skin. No cutting of live tissue, no blades on feet, and nothing that draws blood. If that is what you have been having elsewhere, it is worth knowing that it is not what should be happening.
- Gel or acrylic on an under-twelve. Regular polish only, under twelve. It is the one refusal we make most often.
- Work over a nail that has lifted from the bed. It grows out. We can shape around it and see you when it has.
- Nail art we cannot fit in the time. You will hear that before we start rather than at the point where seven nails are done.
- A drinks licence. You are welcome to bring something to a group booking, but nothing alcoholic. That is a rule about these premises, not about you.
- Parking. There is street parking on 61st and the side streets and that is all there is. The station is four minutes away.
- An app, an account or a loyalty scheme. The booking form does not make you create a login and there is nothing to download. Confirm or cancel from the link in your e-mail.
What we do instead
Nails, and the hands and feet they are attached to. Six tables, three chairs and six people who do this all day. A shop that adds a lash bar and a waxing room is a shop where the nail work gets the time that is left over, and this one would rather be the other kind.
The things on this list that are safety rather than scope
No blades on feet and nothing that breaks skin. Both of those are lines we do not cross, and if you have been having something done elsewhere that involves either, it is worth knowing that it should not have been.
Under twelves: regular polish only. Under twelves: regular polish only. No gel, no acrylic, no drill, no cuticle cutting, and a grown-up stays in the room.
Four or more is an enquiry. Four people or more is an enquiry rather than an online booking. It needs several technicians free at once, and if everybody wants a pedicure there are only three chairs.
Six tables · three pedicure chairs · a published price for everything
Book an appointment
Pick the service and any add-ons and the calendar adds up the minutes before it looks for a slot, so the times you are offered are times that actually fit what you asked for. A pedicure also needs one of the three chairs, and if none is free at four o'clock on a Saturday it will say so rather than book you in and hope.
